Urban Methodology

The Consulate of South Korea Project Space, Milan, Italy

2016

I collect waste objects from the streets and dissect their original forms and functions. After that, I reassemble these collected materials in my own way. The pen drawings and waste paper are filled on the surface of these three-dimensional objects. The repetitive drawing visualizes my impression of cities. Unlike the various thickness of a pencil and infinite colors of painting pigments, the monochromatic and consistent thickness of the ink pen fills the surface in an even manner particular to this medium. Also, the various images which are printed on the surface of the waste paper to highlight their merchandise until they consumed represent the color of cities which I try to express. Currently, the finished visual outputs are arranged in installations, which are a response to the real space.
